I get a popup  box "I18N initialization: Could not open libsapu16vc71.dll" when I start local SAP MMC. I think this started occuring after I installed SAP GUI 7.0. Any ideas?

I have SAP HANA Studio - Revision installed (Failed to create the part's controls), I have SAP GUI 7.30 patch 10 installed. Yet when I try to debug an ABAP program or open SAP GUI window from SAP HANA studio, I get 'Failed to create the part's controls' error in SAP HANA studio. I have repeatedly reinstalled SAP HANA studio, did not help.

Do you have any idea, what could be the reason and how to fix it?

Hi, I uninstalled a device. Now when I do the reversal of the device removal, I am NOT able to see the device validity dates being updated in the Installation data environment and also in the EASTL table. I see the EGERH table affected with one row getting omitted but no change in EASTL. I tried doing reversal in both ways: 1) Billing reversal first & then technical reversal 2) Full reversal Can you please suggest.

i have upgraded my system from 11.2.0.4 to 12.1.0.2.0, I have already upgraded my KERNEL (721_EXT to patch 600), brtools (7.40), have done part of SSFS configuration as well till the time is asks me to check the output of R3trans -d. My database and listener is up and running. I am getting the below error:

Q: When Design Studio Add-On is Installed on Mobile Server in DMZ - not hosting any CMC on the node, there will be not Analysis Application Service available on that node, is that correct

A: Thats correct there will be no APS installed on the machine in the DMZ

Q: How can I verify the succeful installation of Design Studio on the Web Tier in a distributed environment ? Design StudioWS is available.

A: No dsws is part of the platform infrastructure.

Design Studio just uses dsws to communicate between Designer and CMS for storage/retrievel of analysis applications or upload/download of SDK extensions

The presence of dsws does not imply that design studio is installed

Q: How can I verify now the Design Studio on the webtier ?

A:  We can check the installation logs to verify on webtier .

Q: Webtier of us is a Tomcat on Linux; CMS/Process Tier is on WIndows. We just do a predeploy on the bo-server and and copy the files on the tomcat. Running the Design Studio over the platform doesn't work; it seems as the Design Studio is missing on the webtier ;-((

A: in theory this setup is fine, we use a corba transport layer to send requests from web Tier to an APS

I guess you need to check your setup/install logs on Web Tier on the Linux machine to see if the install was successful

It shouldn't matter that you have a mixed OS environment

Q: will design studio add-on ever be included in BOBJ enterprise so we don't have to do seperate installs each time we upgrade/apply a patch? Patching takes long enough the way it is with downtime, and now we have to do two different installs each time if we use Design Studio?

A: not a PM but i would say this is unlikely

Q: Applications->DesignStudi: Readacces for all. And defined the AccessLevel on FolderLevel where the Design Studio Reports are stored. Is this a security problem ?

A: That is normal platform behavior

Q: is there a precise explanation available, what exactly xms and xmx paramters are used for?

for the APS

A: That is the memory configuration for the JVM running the OSGi container  on the APS

Q: I am familiar with a best practice guide that says to only adapt the xmx parameter, not xms

A: The flag Xmx specifies the maximum memory allocation pool for a Java Virtual Machine (JVM), while Xms specifies the initial memory allocation pool.

Q: can one also change the data cell limit for Charts as well?

A:  currently it is not possible to change the limit for charts. For 1.6 SP2 the charts can display up to 35,000 points in a single chart.

Q: is it true that these parametes should never be larger than 8G??

A: Depends on the available memory on your machine and if the JVM is 32 or 64 bit

Q: I once heard that when its larger than 8G, the APS spends more time with garbage collection...even when the server i.e. has 128GQ

A: It may not make sense to add a lot of memory if you only have 15 corba connections open between Web Tier and APS.

We set 15 by default, that means you can have 15 concurrent users served from one APS instance

If you have lots of memory it may never be used so you would have to adjust settings to take advantage

Q: We need to design individual datasources for each charts we create.  Can we re-use single datasource which has various dimensions/measures which is coming from a single hana calculation view where we can drag drop the required columns for analysis at different components level?

A: at the moment it is not possible no. The only workaround is to use the Data Selection property to filter out some data on the client side.

You can re-use the same data source among many components.

Q: if we have row level and column level security in universe so if we are using this universe in design studio will this security reflectt in design studio

A: assume security reflected in Design Studio; sit in middleware called BICS; it takes care of security

is there a BAPI or something else for check if a field is case sensitive? I have a custom BAPI which imports case sensitive and compares some fields against SAP fields. Before i compare, i would like to know if the SAP field is also case sensitive without manually have a look at this.

Hi Experts,

One of my client went live in Jan'2016. We are using Actual cost component split and periodic valuation in COPA. 

I have given range of cost element in cost component structure(Change in stock, production variances etc) by mistak. which caused wrong calculation of actual cost component split and same has been transferred to COPA throught KE27.  Now when we are validating the cost of sales breakup of COPA and cost component split which is not matching with the financials(COGS). Now we have closed JAN, FEB, MARCH 2016 periods. 

Now i have tried using note 434873 and 1869753, through which i can able to correct the previous month(March 2016) and current month(April 2016) actual cost component split and later i can able to transfer it to copa(ke27).   but i am unable to do same(actual cost component split and ke27) for jan and feb 2016.  My concern is how can i able to correct the same in Feb 2016 and Jan 2016.

I am using SOA Integration in point-to-point scenario without any message mediation like PI. This is asynchronous communication.

I am using web service definition, service group, consumer proxy provided by SAP. This integration scenario is between MDG and ECC.

As this is fresh implementation, we have some issues.

I have configured integration scenario and I am able to see the messages in SXMB_MONI after making consumer proxy call.

However messages have failed in SXMB_MONI, when I try to restart the message, I am getting error stating that error while accessing persistence layer. My guess is that Integration Engine is unable to access its persistence layer, looks like some services or J2EE engine is not started. However I am not clear on the steps to resolve this issue.

If you have faced such issue, appreciate if you can share your experiences.

I have a scenario, where we are trying to bring Billing documents from third party system to SAP FI-AR. While posting this to AR, I would like to post entry as Dr - Customer, Cr- Revenue account.

We also have SAP SD billing which happens in the system and posts Dr-Customer, Cr- Revenue account through automatic account determination using VKOA.

Since we have Auto account determination for SD billings and posting in AR is automatic, our Revenue GL accounts are marked as "Post Automatically only".

Due to this, if I develop a program and use a BAPI to post third party system documents to SAP and use revenue account to post, it will throw an error saying "This XXXX account can only be posted automatically". As a result, we can create an adjustment account and use this for posting but is there any way we can make use of posting to this account using a custom program and also not change GL account settings (i.e keep Post automatically active always)?

We just upgraded our BPC from Release 801 SP2 to Release 801 SP13.  Is there a new process for doing a UJBR copy back?  We have used the same copy of our production system to our Quality system that is still on 801 SP2 and we have everything, including Logic Script.  When I look at the Logic Script in our Sandbox environment that has been upgraded all of the Logic Script is missing.

We are using an ABAP procedure to create a custom hierarchy in BW in a custom InfoObject. The procedure writes entries into the /BI*/HXYZ table. The hierarchy is activated and is visible both in BW. I can see hierarchy entries in the RSHIERDIR and RSHIERDIRT table but there are no values related to the hierarchy in the RSMHIERNODE table. When I try to run the Data manager package /CPMB/IMPORT_IOBJ_MASTER, the parent members are not pulling in. So my questions are:

Which BW table does the Import data manager package connect to to pull in the parent members? Should the hierarchy activation trigger writing the parent nodes into the RSMHIERNODE?

When I use the sames package with a standard BW InfoObject, the hierarchy comes through without any issue.

we have C4C with ERP Integration, since 1508 new functionality  ECC-Search is available. Unfortunaely it doesn't show anything from ECC, (but is checking keys correctly). Neither in Docu nor in Business Configuration I did find a hint. Has anyone a hint for me ?

Esta consulta "hala" automáticamente al pie de firma los usuarios de creador y autorizador del documento, y funciona perfectamente en las otras compañías del holding de empresas para el cual trabajo.

Yo heredé esta implementación de SAP, no estuve aquí desde el día 0 así que no se como se hicieron una parte de las cosas.

En esta compañía en partícular, las órdenes no pasan por el proceso de autorización porque la casilla aparece como atenuada, vean aquí:

Y por ende no se genera un draft ni registros en las tablas subsiguientes, que permita que mis documentos atraviesen el proceso de autorización y funcione mi layout.

Alguien tiene alguna pista de por qué razón me aparece atenuada esa casilla y me impida activar los procedimientos de autorización.

I'd like to use dropdown boxes in my IP planning workbook with a fine control of available values based on characteristic relationships. I'm able to perform this with navigation pane or with direct entry in the query table via F4 value help - see SAP note 2164380. However this feature doesn't seem to be available for dropdown boxes. Is there a way to activate the read mode P (planning context) for a dropdown box?

I'm on BW 7.31 / 18.
